Jonah self-released his first album Streets Swept Clean in 2001. Soon after, he was hired by November 8 Recordings in Washington D.C. as an in-house writer and producer for several of their rising stars. Quickly realizing his potential, November signed Jonah as a solo artist and released his album Merciless Morning in 2005.  Jonah established his jack-of-all-trades production style writing and playing all the instruments on the album at Cue Recording in Falls Church, VA working alongside Grammy Award-winning engineer Ken Schubert and Emmy Award-winning engineer Harry Evans. This album featured the singles Merciless Morning and Mary.

Jonah finished a 2nd album with November 8 Recordings  but, with shifting priorities, it was shelved; however, 2 singles –  LuvSleepCoffee and East Again – were released.
